OpenPolicy Shapes FCC Decision-Making on U.S. Government Cyber Trust Mark landmark program

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has officially adopted a pioneering cybersecurity labeling program for Internet of Things (IoT) products, marking a significant step forward in enhancing national cybersecurity. This voluntary initiative is designed to arm consumers with vital information through the FCC IoT Label, including a US government Cyber Trust Mark and a QR code directing detailed product-specific cybersecurity information. This label signifies a product's adherence to established baseline cybersecurity standards.

Our coalition's advocacy efforts have played a pivotal role in shaping this program's product scope, with our contributions specifically recognized in the FCC's Order, resulting in a broader scope for the program.
